It's almost summer...time for a mani-pedi!

Summer is just around the corner, time for a mani-pedi!  Girls Night Out will be on May 25th at 7PM at Happy Nails at the Crossings.  Please leave a comment if you can make it and specify if you want both a mani-pedi or just a manicure or pedicure.  That way I can let Happy Nails know how many chairs to reserve.  Hope to see everyone there!

I will supply the batting, which is optional.  We hope to see everyone there.

TUTU Cute!

The next Girls Night will be on Wednesday April 7th at 7PM at Marci's home (thank you Marci!).  For those who need an address or directions leave a comment.

We will be having a craft and treat night.   Marci and I will be showing how to make baby bows and no-sew tutus.  We have lots of clips to share, but if you would like to bring some grosgrain ribbon (which can be found at Michael's, Jo-Anns and Wal-Mart) that would be terrific.  If you have a craft you're working on feel free to bring that as well, or if you're just looking for a night out come on over.

Treats always make an evening out better, so please bring a treat (sweet or salty) to share.

Marci will be demonstrating how to make cute flower bows and she already has lots of fabric to share (Thanks Marci, you rock!).  I will demonstrate how to make the cute baby korker bows (bottom bow) and a no-sew tutu.

If anyone wants to learn how to make a no-sew tutu, you'll need to bring the items listed below.  I have one rotary cutter and mats which make cutting the tulle easy.  If you have a rotary cutter and a mat and/or glue gun please bring it as well.

Please let us know if you're coming by leaving a comment.  Hope to see you on April 7th!

No-Sew Tutu Supplies:
  • 3/4 inch or 1-inch non-roll elastic (Wal-Mart)
  • 6" rolls of tulle (Also at Wal-Mart, Jo-Anns and Michael's have more colors to choose from.  I used two rolls for my 2-year old's tutu, it just depends how fluffy you want the tutu to be and how big the tutu is.)
  • 1 + rolls of satin 1.5 inch ribbon (Wal-Mart).  The ribbon is optional, but I recommend it. (I used one entire roll of ribbon for my daughter's tutu, if that helps.)

I will supply the chocolate (a milk chocolate caramel and a semi-sweet chocolate fondue) and the strawberries.  If other people want to bring their favorite goodies to dip that woud be awesome.  Some suggestions are fruit (bananas, apples, oranges), pound cake, rice krispies treats, angel food cake, marshmallows, shortbread cookies...ect.

Hope to see you there.

Welcome to The Spot for Sassy Savvy Ladies!

Welcome to "The Spot for Sassy Savvy Ladies" blog. In creating this blog we hope to have more friends know about our monthly outings. So please spread the word and let everyone know. We hope to have monthly posts for activities for girls nights out. If you have ideas for activities please leave a comment and share. The more ideas the better!
This month we had dinner at Panera and saw the movie "The Blind Side"...which was so good! If you haven't seen it, it's definitely worth seeing. Unfortunately our turn out was a bit small, I think the rain scared a lot of people away. I don't blame you...it was a torrential downpour. We hope to see everyone next month though.
For February we're thinking of having a chocolate fondue night (yum), to tie in Valentine's day. If anyone has any other thoughts please let us know. Once we have all the details finalized we'll post the whats, whens and wheres for next month's Girls Night Out. We have the 3rd Thursday tentatively planned as the night for our girls night out for next month..so mark your calendar.
